For nearly 11 years, Michael A. Catino, M.D. has specialized in orthopedic spine surgery. Dr. Catino is certified by the American Board of Orthopaedic Surgery and received his medical degree from the University of Pittsburgh. After completing his general surgery internship and orthopedic residency at the University of Pittsburgh Medical Center in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, he finished his fellowship at Maryland Spine Fellowship in Towson, Maryland where he trained with world-renown surgeon Dr. Paul McAfee. Dr. Catino has co-authored numerous research papers and presented at several professional conferences. He is licensed to practice medicine in Texas, Pennsylvania and Colorado and is a member of the Pennsylvania Orthopaedic Society, Texas Medical Association, Denton County Medical Society and North American Spine Society.
Dr. Catino takes a conservative approach to spinal care. Other treatment plans are considered prior to surgery, including physical therapy and spinal injections. When surgery is considered, Dr. Catino employs minimally invasive techniques whenever possible.
In his spare time, Dr. Catino enjoys staying physically fit, golfing, skiing, playing basketball, bicycling, running and spending time with his wife and four children.
